In praise of getting started

I created this website!

This post serves the purpose of being the first one, so no other post has to deal with that sort of pressure.

I've wanted to make a personal website for a long time. I'm very good at coming up with things i would like to do but not nearly as good at doing them, so all the (very cool) websites in my brain remain uncreated.

But two things happened:

One, the internship i'm doing is about to end, and i have to face an imminent job search. I think having a website in which i talk about the things i like (and how i go about liking them) will allow employers to stalk me and rule themselves out if we are on disagreeing ends of the fundamental things in life, saving me time and many miseries. They usually ask for a linkedin account, but i do not want to play that game.

Two, i came across bearblog. I didn't know about it. After browsing many many websites created with it, and finding several people who i think i could get along with terrifically, i decided to join them.

I'd like to use this blog to practice writing in English, which so far i've mostly only done for work or in very small, inconsistent surges, and to post about things i read, think or learn.

A simple website is infinitely more website than no website at all. Hopefully one day i will build from scratch the website of my dreams, but in the meantime it's nice to have a place to get started. So, hello!
